Congregation to fund K4 million church in Hanuabada

Papua

A NEW church to cost almost K4 million will be built in Hanuabada.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the Lakani Toi Memorial Church was held on Saturday.
“The time has come for us to walk the talk,” church committee chairman Taunao Vai said. The church was established 24 years ago.
Its building needs renovation.
It now has 14 pastors and more than 1200 members.
The project will be solely funded by the congregation through their annual church collection event.
The congregation is confident the amount required will be raised and the project will be completed in December.
Apec Secretariat director-general Lahui Ako stressed the need for faith and leadership in such big projects.
“It is by faith that big projects happen,” Ako said.
“With leadership comes risks and costs.
“If you don’t want to do it, lay off and allow others to do it.”
