Consider genuine applicants

THE removal of 119 new Papua New Guinea Defence Force recruits reported in The National last month speaks volumes. It has highlighted the rot, twaddle, rubbish and stings that are rooted and entrenched within the Defence Force.
Officers responsible are genuine and honest in relation to the selection process but the undisciplined and corrupt higher ranking officers manipulate their good work.
Hijacking the conventional selection process by higher ranking officers from a certain region has been ongoing and is happening.
The Defence Force hierarchy is fully aware and has been nurturing this.
How can the commander say he only learnt about it this year when it has been ongoing all these time?
This is unbelievable.
The 119 recruits did not go through the process at all and are grade 8 and 10 leavers despite the fact that the entry requirement is grade 12.
They went in with big bucks and when brought up to Goldie Training Facility, they could not comprehend simple instructions by training officers.
All the above were done at the expense of very genuine and sincere grade 12 leavers and some who have diplomas from recognised tertiary institutions.
They were made victims despite sitting and passing examinations.
What has become of these priority lists that were placed on the notice board at Murray Barracks?
Where is justice and fairness?
Have we all gone insane or senseless?
Commander Toropo please consider the priority list and get them for training as they have met all requirements.
Hard copies of these priority lists are with those responsible for recruitment at Murray Barracks.
Action speaks louder than words.
The way to start is to quit talking and start doing.
