Consider herbal value

WE see stories of police uprooting marijuana plants and publicly displaying them on the front page of newspapers all the time.

The law enforcers fail to realise that for every marijuana plant they uproot 20 more will grow in its place.

No matter what they do to this plant, whether  uprooting it, slashing it, clearing it or burning it, marijuana is here to stay.

Instead of supressing it the Government must open its eyes to the potential this plant has.

Other countries around the world are recognising the usefulness of this plant in the areas of medicine and are slowly changing their laws to decriminalise its use.

Papua New Guinea can tap into this natural resource that we have growing so abundantly and realise its potential to be s significant income source for our country.

As Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley would say, “Herb is a plant, herbs are good for everything, why them say you must not use the herb?”
