THERE is zero tolerance on police officers assaulting fellow officers, according to acting National Capital District-Central Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’dranou.
He was responding to an incident where a constable, who reported for duty while still drunk, assaulted a senior officer this year.
The constable fled when back-up was called.
He had been on the run until his arrest last Wednesday, N’dranou said.
“We have a zero tolerance on officers assaulting each other, especially superior officers,” he said.
“It is an offence that carries serious penalties under the Police Force Act.
