Construction firm helps Warriors

 R & Sons Construction Ltd has come to the aid of the Warriors rugby league club in Madang with a set of uniforms.

In addition to the uniforms, the company also provided a water esky, match balls and mouthguards for players.

Company officials Johnson Kumbe, Cathy Wape and Rex Rera Pisimi delivered the gear to the club in Madang on Saturday.

The club’s long-term backer, Lae Builders & Contractors paid for the club affiliation and players’ registration fees early this year. Project manager, Kumbe  said the donation to the Warriors was  part of their efforts to help develop players.

“R & Sons employs school leavers and give on-the-job skills training and they become competitive.

“This is part of our contribution to human resource development.”

He said the company supported darts in Bulolo where it operates and helped a number of sports initiatives in Lae. Recently, R & Sons fixed the access road into Ron Albert Oval, the local home of rugby league and also pledged K5,000 to the MRL.

Warriors team manager, Fr Harry Gahare said the club was pleased with the support that would boost is morale.
