THE Rangeview commercial plaza at Waigani in Port Moresby is on schedule and targeted to be opened for tenants to commence their fit-out works in November.
The centre should start trading in March.
According to Lamana Development Ltd who is undertaking construction, there will be one supermarket (3,100 square metres), 30 specialty shops, five retail kiosks, five restaurants, 12 food kiosks and an international medical clinic located inside the plaza.
The estimated value of the Plaza is around K210 million and is part of a residential project in the Rangeview precinct costing K296 million.
“Thousands of jobs have already been created directly and indirectly from the Rangeview Commercial Plaza,” Lamana Development Ltd said in a statement.
“The project has always maintained a high onsite local labour presence with daily manpower regularly exceeding 400 staff members.
“The project will continue to create jobs through its life, including tenant staff, maintenance, cleaners, fit out works, deliveries, and everyone else involved in this activity centre.”
The Rangeview retail and residential precinct is a public-private partnership with the National Capital District Commission providing the land while Nambawan Super and Lamana contributed funding.
The completed development will include 88 residential townhouses.
