Contest elections, people will decide

Letters

I WRITE in response to Silas Brownford’s letter on Jan 13 about Sir Mekere Morauta’s son Dr James to stand-in as Moresby North West MP.
Papua New Guinea is a democratic country where power is vested on the people to make their own decisions.
PNG is not a communist country or a country ruled by a royal family where the heir inherits power.
You know very well that this does not happen in PNG.
We should not change the way the government system in our country operates.
We are a democratic country so we should abide by the rules.
If Dr James wants the seat, he should contest in the by-election or the general election.
