Contractor praised for building ‘good’ road

PEOPLE living at the border of Jimi and North Waghi, in Jiwaka, have praised KaiaWorks, from Chimbu, for the work it did.
The people of Kapka tribe joined the people of Jimi in saluting Jimi MP Wake Goi for engaging a reputable company to build and maintain a good road in the most rugged district of Jiwaka.
Sweatz Ramat Construction Company, from Mt Hagen, built the Aprip Bridge and is now working on the Kaunang Bridge and laying the foundations for culverts and bailey bridges over creeks and rivers from North Waghi to Jimi.
Upper Jimi deputy president John Moli was impressed with the leadership provided by Goi.
A bypass road was completed last week at the border section, allowing vehicles to pass through.
Moli commended the Kapka people for allowing the project to go ahead uninterrupted.
“The only service that Jimi people need urgently is good road and bridges,” he said.
“All else will come along once the road network is effective.
“I take my hat off to Goi, the vice-minister for Works for giving priority to improve our road system.”
