A police officer charged with grievous bodily harm failed to appear at the Bomana Committal Court on Friday.
Luke Ena, 29, from Morobe, allegedly disabled a man’s left arm over a few bags of betel nuts at Daisama market, Laloki in Central.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar said the matter was fresh and police would need time to complete investigations.
The court was told that Ena failed to attend his court case twice – on Thursday and Friday.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Joseph Sangam reassured the court that Ena would attend court on its next date – Aug 11.
Bidar extended Ena’s K500 bail.
