Coronavirus is ‘foreign’

Letters

I WISH to reiterate President Donald Trump’s statement to say coronavirus is “foreign”.
In Papua New Guinea, my blessed country, coronavirus is truly foreign.
In our way of thinking, why and how did this pandemic simply emerged from the dark and is now causing chaos in the world today, affecting our normal lives?
So much unbudgeted money is now being used to combat this foreign epidemic. PNG is on the verge of doing so as to be alert for its entry into our country.
This country declared the God of Israel to be its God.
As such we shall be and remain protected by the God of Israel and PNG.
On the same token, learned people are blaming man’s association with some wild animals to suddenly expose this “foreign virus”.
Man and these wild beasts lived side by side since creation and none of such occurred.
Why do we suddenly blame the animals who cannot speak out in defence of themselves?
The same was said about avian flu, ebola, HIV and the list will not remain exhaustive.
In the most recent past, my people lived in the same house with dogs, cats and pigs, yet lived to a ripe old age with no “foreign viruses” affecting them.
What will be the next virus to affect the world, this time stemmed from some failed experiments in some laboratories?
Let’s take the precautionary measures as we should, but at the same time know fully well that God is on our side no matter what.
Did ebola affect us or was the avian flu detrimental to us?
God is good.
