WITH the Corporate Nines rugby league challenge expected to kick off Jan 29, invitations have already been sent to companies intending to participate.
The event will run for 13 weeks followed by the playoffs.
Competition manager Ivan Ravu said three companies – Digicel, Ox and Palm and Daltron – had already confirmed their participation.
They have already paid their K2,000 affiliation fees, including the player registration fees.
Last season’s champions Central Bank have shown interest to defend the title but have yet to pay up their fees.
Seventeen teams took part last season but the number is expected to increase with more companies showing interest next month’s challenge.
The aim of the competition was to improve communication and networking in the working environment and address healthy living and staying fit.
Ravu added that the companies intending to join  the competition were given till Jan 15 to pay up their K2,000 affiliation fee.
All matches will be played every Friday nights at the Lloyd Robson oval.
The competition will be an opener to another rugby league year in Port Moresby.
