Corruption and politics

Letters

HOW do we stop corruption in the country?
The answer is very simple: Don’t vote for candidates who come around to bribe you in any form or shape during elections.
Instead read the person’s mind and heart first before deciding who will get your vote.
How many times have the Ombudsman Commission and the Electoral Commission warned us in advance to be aware of bribery and corruption but yet we continue on without seeming to have learnt from our past silly mistakes.
We keep on supporting and voting for the material man rather than the wisdom man.
The Electoral Commission should also have some kind of law that helps us screen the candidates so we only get the best people contesting elections, even though this may contravene the Constitution which guarantees anyone the right to stand for public office.
No amount of money, knowledge, material things and university degrees will buy wisdom.
That is something you get from God.
When you accept a bribe to vote for a particular person you sow the seed of corruption.
Let’s all re-think our ways and play our part to promote integrity and fair play.
