Councillors’ plight

Letters

AM a ward councillor for Kendu 2 Ward in Banz LLG and a victim of former Electoral Commission late Sir Andrew Trawen’s umbrella decision nullifying the Banz LLG election in the 2013 elections.
I wish to make known the sufferings we, the 23 ward councillor for Banz LLG, have gone through.
For almost six years, Banz LLG officials have gone ahead in performing their usual duties, hoping that their service would one day be rewarded with a reasonable package or back-pay but that hope never materialise.
Why are ward councillors from other LLG’s in PNG paid and enjoying other benefits and entitlements while we continue to render service and in committing family time as volunteers?
This is unfair and injustice for Banz LLG.
I wonder if we have a department called the Department of Provincial and LLG Affairs.
Our parliamentarians and secretaries are not focusing on the state and welfare of our country and its people, so let us call for PNG to become another Australian state.
