Country records 20 new Covid-19 cases

PAPUA New Guinea recorded 20 new Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases last Wednesday, Thursday Friday, bringing the country’s total infections to 17,800.
Last Friday, one case each were reported in the National Capital District (NCD) and Central.
The infected were a man and a woman aged 36 and 60.
Last Thursday, new infections were reported in Madang (four), the NCD (three), West Sepik (two) and both Southern Highlands and Enga single case each.
According to a National Control Centre (NCC) media release, the infected were 10 men and a woman aged between 14 and 65. Last Wednesday, seven new cases reported in Central (two), Morobe (four) and Enga (one).
The infected were two men and five women.
No deaths were reported and the toll stands at 192.
The centre did not provide any update on the status of the delta virus variant in the country nor whether any of those infected had delta.
To date, only 149,054 people have tested for the Covid-19.
Globally, the total cases reached 201,598,139, including 661,404 new cases.
The death toll is at 4,278,560 including 9,515 new deaths.
