PRIME Minister James Marape has been granted leave by the Supreme Court to be an intervener in an application questioning the constitutionality of his election on May 30, last year.
Marape, through his lawyer McRonald Nale obtained, leave to intervene before Justice Collin Makail yesterday.
This will be the third application Opposition Leader Belden Namah has filed against the election of Marape after two of his previous applications were dismissed on issues of competency and standings.
His most recent applications concerning the same matter was dismissed after a five-man Supreme Court bench found that he was still suspended from office when he filed the application regarding constitutionality of Marape’s election.
The ruling of the five-man bench on May 29 concerned a leadership tribunal which Namah was subjected to and found him guilty of misconduct in office for storming a court room in 2012 to arrest former chief justice Sir Salamo Injia who was presiding cases at the time.

  • What is Namah want to get from PMJM? Probably he may not be resting properly all these time because he may still dreaming for this post? It was not him who was nominated for the pm seat during voc and he was also not a runner up for the seat.
Its only in PNG that these things are happening. God bless PNG.

  • It seems like the court house is Beldan Namah’s electorate of Vanimo Green! He seems to spend more time at the court house than in his electorate. What more is he trying to prove?
PMJM has been voted in and he is trying to sort the mess this country is in and Namah should step in and work together with the PM as bi-partisan approach to address issues that are critically affecting PNG right now. Time for playing politics should stop. Try and do some good for this country when the country need you more than ever.
Maski long hap sense na go kam long kot haus tumas.

  • BN is getting a little crazy and perhaps having sleepless nights. 2022 is around the corner so BN we your voters from Vanimo Green electorate have yet to see you delivering the much needed services like water, roads and electricity plus good health and education facilities. Waigani court house ino votim u…mipla pipol blg Vanimo Green voted for you. See you in 2022.

  • Looks like Marape has stolen what was Namah’s birth right so Namah is having sleepless nights until he gets it back. Can’t you just wait patiently until 2022, then see if you can muster the numbers and vie for the post.
