The Madang District Court jailed a boy, 15, for six years for murdering a man last year.
Judge David Cannings sentenced him after he found him guilty on one count of murder.
It is understood the boy had been in prison before.
The court heard that on Aug 4 at 7am, the boy was at Biliau Maus Rot settlement where he stabbed Darius Roger.
The court heard that the boy tried to sleep but was disturbed by Roger, from Middle Ramu, Madang, and his friends and that angered him. The boy armed himself with a grass knife and went over to the small hut where the drinking session was going on and stabbed Roger in his chest.
