Court quashes stay order bid

 CHIEF Justice Sir Salamo Injia on Friday refused an application by Ian Molloy QC for a stay order on a National Court decision to prevent Task Force Sweep from continuing its investigations.

Sir Salamo, who presided as a one-man Supreme Court bench, said he agreed with the decision by Justice Ere Kariko in the National Court last Monday that there was no arguable case. 

He said the application was based on the assumption that the task force had interfered with the responsibilities of the Police Force under the Constitution and the Police Act.
