POLICE have been told to serve their files on suspended PNG Power board executive director John Mangos who is facing fraud-related charges.
Mangos, 49, from Australia, was charged on March 15 for conspiring to defraud PNG Power, dishonestly applying the property of PNG Power, and abuse of office.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate John Kaumi instructed police to serve the files yesterday.
But prosecutor Joseph Sangam asked a for a week’s adjournment to have the files printed.
Mangos’ lawyer Philip Tabuchi objected to the adjournment saying more than four months had passed since the arrest.
Tabuchiasked the court to strike out the case.
Kaumi said even if the case was struck out, and if the files were ready, the defendant could be arrested again.
Both parties will return to court on Tuesday for submissions.
