OBURA-Wonenara MP Mehrra Minne Kipefa is relieved now that the election petition filed against him by his predecessor John Boito has been dismissed by the court.

“I look forward to doing what I am supposed to do for my people in the Obura-Wonenara electorate who elected me as their MP,” Kipefa said.

“I would like to thank God for protecting me and seeing me through this difficult and challenging period.

“I am now relieved of the pressure I was put through and look forward to doing my best to deliver the much-needed goods and services to my people.”

The Court of Disputed Returns dismissed Boito’s election petition on Monday, July 8, in Kainantu.

Kipefa praised the Obura-Wonenara people for their support and patience.

He urged them to put aside their differences and support development plans for the district.

He also called on Boito to “accept the decision of the court and in all fairness “allow me to do what I am supposed to do instead of continuing to interfere with my duties and responsibility by pursuing further court proceedings”.
