THE Waigani Committal Court will decide on Tuesday whether there is enough evidence of abduction and rape of a girl, 10, three years ago to send a 37-year-old man on trial.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura said the court would look at the evidence provided by police investigating the case.
The accused, Sam Keieng Kissi, of Baget village in the Rai Coast, Madang, is charged with two counts of abduction and three counts of rape.
The police brief said that around 2.30pm on Oct 8, 2018, the victim and her friends were walking from their Wardstrip Primary School to Erima in Port Moresby where she lived when Kissi drove past and stopped in front of them at Godwin Street, Gordon.
Police alleged that Kissi signalled the victim to go to him and he asked the victim if she knew a girl named Sylvia.
The victim responded that she didn’t.
Kissi then told the victim that he knew her parents and asked her to get in the car and he would take her to buy some lunch.
The victim believed Kissi and got in the vehicle and they drove around the city before going to the Konedobu stadium.
It was alleged that Kissi parked the car outside the stadium and pulled the victim to the back of the car and forced her to remove her school uniform and raped her.
He then drove to East Boroko, and allegedly raped her a second time.
Kissi later drove to Erima and dropped the victim on the roadside and she walked to her home.
The victim’s mother found the victim bleeding when she went home and took her to the hospital and then reported the matter to police.
The girl was admitted at the Port Moresby General Hospital for three days.
Police said Kissi also allegedly committed similar offences against two other minors.
