CITY Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) Group has called on business houses in the country to support Team Papua New Guinea athletes who are preparing for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
CPL strategic marketing general manager Kevin Alo said support amid the Covid-19 pandemic was crucial for athletes five months out from the showpiece event.
This week, CPL presented K30,000 to the PNG Olympic Committee with the support targeting athlete nutrition and hygiene.
“CPL is doing its part in supporting our Olympic representatives and we would like to encourage other businesses to come on board and support our athletes,” he said.
“The athletes and their coaches have been preparing and training extremely hard in very challenging circumstances over the last couple of months.
“CPL has a healthy relationship with sports in Papua New Guinea and this is evident with the sponsorship we have provided to different sporting groups over the years.
“Most notably is our sponsorship with the Rebels netball club which we’ve been sponsoring for more than 20 years.”
