Create more job opportunities

The National Letters

THE Government needs to address the increasing unemployment rate in PNG.
It should establish more downstream processing facilities in the country to create more employment opportunities.
Work in collaboration with non-governmental organisations to create employment opportunities.
Support more agricultural activities and build factories to process agricultural products in the country. Stop foreign workers from working in the country in order to improve our economy.
The aging workforce in the country, especially government workers, have to be retrenched to create room for new graduates to enter the workforce.
Engage with other countries such as Australia and New Zealand for seasonal jobs (fruit picking). We need to be creative and look for opportunities to generate revenues and create jobs.

  • Aka Tom, we can’t wait for the government to provide everything for us. We have all the land before us. We must work on the land, sweat, get our hands dirty and we will be blessed. We can’t forever wait for free handouts. Miracles will not happen unless we make it happen.
