CRICKET PNG (CPNG) hosted the BSP School Kriket Blast competition for term one at the Kudjip Primary School in Jiwaka last month.
The quiet town of Banz came alive with a total of four schools; Lee Abby, Kudjip Primary, Aviamp and Kimil competing in the one-day soft ball cricket competition.
CPNG’s game development-training manager, Charles Kendee who was present commented on the success of the carnival. “Cricket is such a dominant sport in the coastal region so to see it gain momentum here in the Highlands region, especially in Jiwaka, is very encouraging,” he said. He concluded that the highlight of the event was seeing a high number of girls participating.
