Cricket hosts breakfast to support cancer

CRICKET PNG (CPNG) hosted its ‘biggest morning tea’ in support of PNG Cancer Foundation last Sunday.
The successful event, which also commemorated Mothers’ Day, was proudly sponsored by CPNG and the Australian Government.
In attendance at the event were representatives of the cricket fraternity, Women’s Cricket director Iammo Launa, PNG Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) educator Paulus Miroi and the women’s national cricket team, the City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) Lewas.
Miroi spoke about the importance of mouth cancer awareness and the risks of developing the disease from smoking and chewing betel nuts.
Among the guests were students from the CPNG Kriket Blo Olgeta programme, who brought along their mothers for the occasion, with special raffle draw prizes including a cricket bat signed by players of the national cricket teams – the PNG Barramundis and the Lewas,
Cricket PNG was proud to make a donation to PNG Cancer Foundation in support of their cancer awareness programmes.
