Cricket PNG to run disability programme

 Cricket PNG’s new program called the Kriket Blo Olgeta Program will see its Disability Cricket program get launched on Saturday, March 29 at Amini Park from 9am to 11am.
The day also coincides with the National Disability Day and will feature special children with various types of disabilities.
It will be a half day event from 8.30am to 12 noon where the launch will be the first of the sub-program under the Kriket Blo Olgeta Umbrella.
Service providers such as St John’s Service of the Blind, Callan Disable Service, Red Cross Special Resource Centre and Cheshire Disability Services will be present to launch the program.
Clients from each service provider will participate in exhibition games with the assistance from their guardians and development officers, national Players and staff from Cricket PNG.  The exhibition games have been modified to suit the type of disability.
After the launch, there will be a workshop to further equip Cricket PNG staff and its development officers, the skill and knowledge of how to deal with these special people before officially running the program prior to the commencement of term II.  
Cricket PNG will also have the expertise of Annie Hateley from Cricket Victoria who arrives into the country today for a week-long visit.
Annie is currently the Community Programs Manager for CV and has hands on experience of running these special programs for these special people in Victoria.
