Crime and investment

Letters

PORT Moresby was once a safe and peaceful city but unfortunately that changed somewhere along the way.
Today, Port Moresby is a city where people get robbed every day at bus stops, markets, streets, shop fronts, etc.
It is a sad reality to see hardworking people robbed of their hard-earned money.
The number of car thefts and arm robberies have increased rapidly, with crime having a negative effect on investments and economic growth. Crime in the city is spiraling out of control.
The government should not turn a blind eye to these problems and not boast about bringing in investments when the city is riddled with crime.
The government needs to fix these problems first before trying to bring investors in because to do otherwise will be like refusing to clean your room but still inviting your friends over.
