THE Capital Rugby Union (CRU) heads into week one of its pre-season competition tomorrow with all nine clubs confirmed to take part at Bava Park this year.
CRU president Kori Chan told The National that the 2021 season would see the inclusion of an Under-17 division to join the U19s, U23s and women’s category.
“We are looking forward to the kick-off of the pre-season this weekend,” he said.
“The U17 men’s division is an initiative and 2021 will be the pilot season to start focusing on developing youths in our game.
“CRU is proud of the fact that we managed to deliver a short programme in 2020 in light of all of the setbacks that came with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Through hard work and determination from our executive committee (club presidents), we delivered our men’s premier grade competition with Brothers triumphing for a third-straight season.”
The pre-season will see three weeks of competition with the U19, U23 and senior divisions to kick off week one at Bava Park tomorrow.
