Cruel way to die

YOUNG mother-of-two Jenelyn Kennedy died from “head injury and bruised internal organs”, according to a doctor who examined her body.
Dr Seth Fose, the chief pathologist at the Port Moresby General Hospital, said the 19-year-old died from “blunt force trauma to the head and the body with a blunt instrument or object”.
Her body was left at the hospital by three men on Tuesday after she had undergone, according to the babysitter who lived with her and her partner at a home at Korobosea, beatings for six days in a row.
Port Moresby police have charged her partner Bhosip Kaiwi with wilful murder. He is in custody at the Boroko police station and is expected to appear at the Waigani court today.
Jenelyn’s body was left at the hospital on Tuesday by three men who arrived in a vehicle.
Grandfather Kennedy Karava said Jenelyn, who turned 19 on March 18, had been through five years of torture which they had been reporting to police.
In 2015 when she was in Grade Seven at the Eki Vaki Primary School, Karava said Jenelyn ran away with Kaiwi. They reported the matter to police as she was under-aged. They had two children.
Babysitter Racheal Ipang told of how Jenelyn had been beaten up for six straight days up to last Monday night when two doctors were summoned to treat her at home.
Ipang said after the doctors left, she heard Jenelyn being beaten up again.
“Her screams stopped at around 3am (Tuesday). I believe that was when she passed away.”
The post-mortem report however stated that she died at around 2pm on Tuesday.
Ipang said another woman was brought into the house to be the “second wife”, but she ran away after being subjected to beatings too.
Kennedy family spokesman Thomas Opa said the family would not accept any form of compensation from whoever caused Jenelyn’s death. They will leave it to the court to decide on the appropriate punishment.
Meanwhile, the National Doctors Association is investigating the involvement of two doctors who were called to the home at Korobosea to treat Jenelyn.
Association secretary Dr Sam Yockopua said “they could be nurses or other cadres of health workers”.
“We are investigating that,” he said.
“And if found guilty, we can revoke membership and refer them to the medical board for further action.”

  • Mean while partner Bhosip Kaiwi never made it to waigani committal court this morning, the reason unknown. word is that the matter might be heard late this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

    Justice must be served!!

    • It is a horrible start of the day ROJA. And so the the trend continues. They provide excuses until this story becomes another statistic. That it becomes an acceptable way of life in PNG. This is not about women vs men or men vs the world…This is about justice. This murder Boship Kaiwi will be left again to roam the streets and dark alleys pursuing naive young women to his death bed. Again, another payout and special treatment given to an animal..we support animals and not human lives. How sick are our systems!! People rise up and let our voices be heard. Post on FB, Billboards and name and shame these ugly monsters. Why should we post and name our victims and provide a biography of their lives and leave out the animals who murder savagely and cowardly.
Pay advertisers or marketing managers and come up with clever lines for Gender Based violence….Come together and start a funding agent and call it “Go fund Justice for All” or something. Come with clever billboards and plaster them all over the country and in Pom with pictures of the ugly monsters and have txt that read “Do not employ this monster, he killed my daughter” or…Do not do business with this monster, he killed my Daugherty….. Show their coward faces. These men come from violent parents and families so they imitate… Sick society…

      • Its very horrible thing to do to a woman who gave you two beautiful kids. The monster has a very defective brain.
Furthermore, the state is liable for the death because it was brought to the attention of the police on several occasions and the welfare as well. The government has spent millions of kina into these departments. they are not doing in their duties accordingly. Its very shameful when you as a police officer not attending your duties when such issues confronted you.

You signed the oath basically to perform without fear or favor and we are out there to protect people and property. This is the prime business of the government. You are ignoring your mandated responsibility and you failed the state miserably by not performing as expected of you as a police officer .

  • The crime against Jenelyn is condemn in the strongest possible terms. Justice will be done if the culprit is prosecuted. PNG and the world needs to know the charges and the penalty for that serious crime and murder. No one is above the law of the land. We join the chorus “JUSTICE FOR JENELYN”!

    • Exactly, the murderer…That is his name. This is the name to associate Bosip Kaiwi- the murderer. He doesn’t deserve to be called Jenely’s partner, or lover or boyfriend. Because people with these descriptions should not treat another human with such savage behavior. He should be called “the murderer”…Remove his children from his family. We should all fear if her children are living with the murderer’s family. That lifestyle and family is unstable. Child Welfare needs to be involved. If she was 15 and he 24, then that is rape!!! Useless coward. He is not a man because he manipulates young girls. Rapist!

  • Doctors going around getting briberies and treating patients at homes must stop. I recommend Dr Sam Yokopua to punish those twos involved and terminate their practising licences ASAP.

  • Let us not be the judges, if we are making decisions for the culprit, then the judge who is going handle the case will be for paid for nothing. Let the justice system take its own course, our out bursting wont help anyone at all, Let the law take its own course. We know the partner was wrong, there are so many questions that needs to be asked to find out the root causes,..then fact be established, then we know who really was at fault…

    • I do agree with Dr. Sam Yokopua, the Secretary of National Doctor’s Association (NDA). Where those two be Medical Doctors or any other cadres of Health Worker they MUST be sacked forwith for receiving MONEY and denying torture of human being to whom they signed ouths to serve.

    • “Let the Justice System takes its own course?” This is PNG and we all know where that course leads to if you have money.

  • These doctors should have reported the issue to the police if they had heart for people. Their qualification is in question. why i am saying this is because doctors are care gives who perform their duties with their heart and diligence. relevant authorities must do a thorough investigation on this.

  • The country needs to enforce tougher laws or we will continue to see our female folks succumb to such barbaric killings and brutality. JUSTICE must prevail for Jenelyn

  • Yes JK, agreed, those two doctors must be identified and referred to the appropriate authorities, the five men who where there during the final beating which led to death must also be identified and arrested for accomplices to murder.

  • The fact that there were five(5) men in the house, including the house girl when the beatings took place & they didn’t do anything about it or report it to some families or authorities really makes me sick. The house girl has been an overnight fb famous, she should be ashamed of herself & keep her mouth shut coz it’s too late for her to be heard. She waited till JKs death to come out & now she’s reporting everything on the media & everywhere. What a shame!

  • Justice will prevail if the culprit is prosecuted.. and also investigate those five man including two doctors and lock them behind bars…

  • The 2 medical officers or nursing officers, or paramedics should be identified and preferred to PNG Medical Board for further deliberations, because they were fully aware of the nature of injury yet did not report the matter to the authorities.

  • The 2 medical officers or nursing officers, or paramedics should be identified and referred to PNG Medical Board or nursing council for further deliberations, because they were fully aware of the nature of injury yet did not report the matter to the authorities.

  • It really sickens me to see and hear such preventable deaths, coming a father and husband and yes my partner and I did go through some form of domestic issues but it is really really sad to see this horrific bashing and loss of life. I have tears reading these as I think of my beautiful wife and my beautiful daughters, it’s heart breaking honestly….
I thank God for giving me my wife and using her as a vessel to drive change and being the rock beside me no matter what. Giving me our beautiful children which is our joy.
I protect my family especially our girls because they are vulnerable.
I appeal to all men who do bash your wives, please stop and stop now before it’s too late. Love them unconditionally like they do you, they are your partner and best friend after all. They look up to us as their protectors not the enemy.
    God Bless

    • JP, Thank God for a man like you. You show appreciation and love. These traits are human …. Thank God for men who love and respect their women, daughters and female family members. praise God in the highest for the women who do the same for their men.

  • That animal needs to be chained to his cell at Boroko Police Station so he has a taste of his own medicine.

  • Im sorry Joe Ima. But this is not about finding the reason which indicates that what he did was acceptable. This is a bout stopping future crimes against women, children and man. You can not simply say this is about finding who was at fault!! This man is a murderer and a sadist. He is evil and definitely has no remorse as to what he did. People pour out their comments and outcry in the hopes to get justice for those who can not speak. We as responsible human beings need to voice our frustration and provide feedback. This is not acceptable behavior. We do not live in tribal lands nor should we be allowed to practice any such form of disadvantage behavior to women, children and men.

  • A lot had been done to promote human rights as well as gender violence, especially against women. The person involved in this death is aware of all these, yet he took away the young life. This is inhuman and shows how primitive he is.
The poor infants are now left to be adopted by relatives sadly without a mother and this is traumatising in itself looking at he fact they witnessed their mother being put through inhuman beatings for a number of days. So sad indeed.

  • Nothing the poor young mother could have done would make her husbands actions justifiable. She was tortured to death for 6-days before her body gave up the fight. This type of man does not need to live in our society, send him to live with barbaric humans of the same kind as him.

If we look at the Biblical point of view, the Lord is the only Judge, the devil came kill & destroy, that is actually what is happening now, when we look at only one side of the story, we are taking sides cause of the seriousness, thats ok but, are adding fuel to what is already burning, that is we are dancing to the music of devil, we can destroy the killer the devil, prayer is the weapon the devils is afraid, the prayer of a righteous man, I believe that is the solution,,,

Time of the flood here is today, lets get into our ark if we had built one…

    • Sorry Joe Ima. I understand the biblical nature of this and I understand what you are saying. The bible speaks of love and speaks of forgiveness and also speaks of destruction to human kind as a result of disobedience. It also talks about the law in which we serve…. Give to Ceaser what you owe him and give to the Lord of what it is His.
You can not justify a man’s action purely on the bible because people use it to their advantage to suit what is good and what it provides them.
Feedback and public out cry including prayers are human’s way of shining light to causes of just behaviour. If we keep silent and do not show the world what is unjust then it becomes a norm. So he should not be judged by the people? But the judge in common law? All have an opportunity to speak his/her mind. We need to show everyone that this behaviour is inhuman! You can not try and find fault in this! He murdered a human being!! Are we to say that if she is at fault because she denied him the satisfaction of making him a man then he has the right to chain her, torture her and do as he pleases because she is at fault? And eventually if he feels fit he can murder her and then we can sit and not “judge” and try and find fault? How ridiculous does this sound. Bible preaching when it is not applied properly is in itself a destruction of human kind. He is a murderer and there is no way a judge should sit on his chair and try and find who is at fault! Bosip Kaiwi is a murderer!! He deserves to be given a life sentence where he can go and try and find solace in his empty cell. Maybe he can read a bible and ask for forgiveness then…..

    • Joe, please stop talking nonsense. I don’t think you, yourself understand what you are saying.

  • Again, Police Prosecutors dont play delay tactics and allow such sadisitc psyochopaths to escape from the hands of law. Why are the police even discussing bail options??? Are they listening to themselves….? We need hired professsionals to handle such controversial matters who can take stock of facts and figures and build up a solid case. The Police Hierachy should not be allowing the same prosecutors who have failed miserably in the past to put criminals behind bars to deal with this case. This will only compromise their findings and again allow another sick animal to roam the streets to prowl on young girls to torture. Thats a red flag right when there is an adjournement to the hearing simply becuase court documents were not ready. PNG be vigilant…

  • Justice delayed is jutice denied. Justice is to be delivered on time, why didn’t the police intervene and deliver justice in the first instance of reporting.

  • so call murderer is no match torturing man kind cause he himself knew that his own ass will be tortured.

Sorry for that poor young Mother may your soul RIP. I am pretty sure your KARU brothers are waiting for him the prison. Karu Brothers out there made him Pregnant when he enters your world, show him real torturing and let him die too.

    PNG em MI yha..!!!!

  • Congratulations to Dr. Sam Yakopia….yes please investigate those Doctors and please provide update on those two…. corrupt activities existing amongst the doctors must be eradicated to maintain the integrity of PNG Doctors.

  • If this murderer dosent get charged and be incarcerated for life, then what will become of all our womenfolk???? How can we ever guarantee their safety when they get married????
Ba yumi larim dai blo late Jennelyn kamap narapla statistic osem planti dai igo pinis lo han bilong man bilong ol a????
These crooks working in the law and recieving bribes for the liberty of narcissicistic, psychopathic imbicile pervert! should be ashamed of yourselves!!! You’re no lesser than a stray bitch scavenging the streets of POM. How can the lawyer/ whoever it is, not have the court documents ready for the court mention today???? This is madness! You’re inefficient!!!
The four men who listened in silence while the poor ladies life was ebbing out from her ought to be charged too!!! How can you sit there and listen and watch the torture of an innocuous lady!!??
Also, Why can’t you as a medical practitioner raise your voice and save that life before hand like you so ought to do, as your Job description ultimately is so!!??that Dr. Ought to be named and shamed and have his/her medical practitioner license revoked!!!! You’re a sham!!!You facilitated the murder of a beautiful sole!

Please let’s put up a picture of this murder on all notice boards/ settlements/ public transport facilities in POM and around the country. Make sure every citizen is aware of this prick Bosip Kaiwi!!! Let his face serve as a reminder to all us menfolk everyday of how animalistic, evil and inhumane he is so we can reflect and treat our ladies as should!! This looser! Sadist! Lowlife! Ugly faced monster! should be embed in all men so that if we see him anywhere besides CIS Bomana, please do the honorable thing and give him the slow painful death he so much deserves!!! ( Law wok lo fail lo mekim wok stret so yumi traim mekim osem na lukim husait wok lo kisim bribe stap na bagarapim mama law blo displa beautiful kantri blo yumi! Let’s put a bounty on his head!!!)

#For the love of our beautiful wives’, sisters and daughters!!!!

  • There is so much injustice that the government should act upon. I also plea tovthe law enforcement to do their part by making sure that all people in their jurisdoction are protected and well taken care..

  • This is no time for religious sentiment to be used to downgrade the grave seriousness of this heinous and barbaric murder. Joe Ima is somehow implying that this senseless murder can somehow be mitigated by taking into account the ‘root causes’. Well, let me tell you Joe Ima, that may apply to a lesser crime. In this instance a life has been taken, and apparently for no good reason than just pure lust and jealousy. To me it would seem the murderer committed this offense out of pure jealousy borne out of his insecurity around the beautiful young lass. In both judicial and religious aspects this is the gravest crime and sin…taking another life.

People have the right to express their views regarding this barbaric murder. This has been a scene played out in public view for too many an occasion already…a worsening situation getting reported to and receiving a blind eye from relevant authorities which eventually ends up in a fatality. Our law enforcement agencies seem either incapable and unwilling or both, to take a more proactive role in dealing with such situations. This boils down to the training they receive. I would think they are not that well trained to be able to identify and monitor cases with a potential for further escalation and futile consequence.

  • Yes ROJA confirm, from PNG Loop News yesterday, this Culprit did not turned up to Court Yesterday.Who is this guy any why (Bhosip Kaiwi). Is he a Monster Among Man that Law will look down on him??
Is he the world’s billionaire that people in-charge are accepting his bribery or whatsoever.
Let his tecticales remove and let him died a painful death as what he did to ‘”Late Jenelyne”..
    ‘Rest in Peace my Sister’

  • Let justice prevail please… it is sickening to hear such a horor. Such person should not leave among the community. He should be lock out forever and die of old age in Bomana. He better deserves maximum imprisonment. Over to the good judge or magistrate

  • ”JENELYN” will be turn 19, or so I heard, meaning we have a child who was having childen and living in a relationship with an abusive adult. Consent or no consent given for this relationship, she is still a child and under the ”LUKAUTIM PIKININI ACT” This guy has been having forced sexual relationship with a minor and that in itself is already a a crime. On top of that as if that’s not enough the poor child couldn’t protect herself from the continuos physical & psycological abuse she was sustaining. She was so vulnerable & frail, following the 6 days of beating and grivevious bodily harm she lost her life in a most inhuman act by the father of her babies..
This person cannot roam around freely, he deserves to be locked up and pay for his crime against an innocent child. NO ONE NEED TO JUSTIFY HIS ACT HERE…THERE IS NO FAULT FINDING HERE…JENELYN IS INNOCENT 100%…JUSTICE FOR JENELYN must prevail…

  • Hey guys! Lets take a break…. At first I was so horrified, why such a beautiful young woman would lose her precious life at the hands of a cruel and senseless murderer for no good reason. But now I realise that there was sufficient reason why the husband acted in that manner and took Jenelyns life. He went beyond the extreme of understanding his limits. I realise that Jenelyn went beyond her extremes also which provoked her partner to come up with such senseless behaviour that resulted in taking her life. First I bursted out but now I feel that there may be some factors that needs to be thoroughly investigated Why such a thing would have happened to a young beautiful mother. I took note of the nature in which Jenerlyn was horrifically murdered and why her partner would acted in such a manner to take the life of another person. Jenelyn would have something to say if she was alive and may be someone should know some reasons why her partner acted in that manner to take Jenelyns life. Please investigate properly to assist in the mitigating factors.

  • I only saw this kiind of killing in movies white mans world …PNG umi gat strong kustoms and yet I still can not believe there were 5 people and 2 doctors who witness the whole thing and didnt do anything about it….even lo hide na reportim to ol hard….its time we all need to speak up against all kinds and forms of violence weather it be physical, mentally, financially, emotions, etc…this are violence that can lead to big issues.

  • Gideon the event her death didnt just happen over night ….for 5 years she has been in pain….how can yu say u love her and yet put her through that….unlike the other case of Debbie she provoke that….

  • Justice for all, absolutely agree. No human being deserves to suffer and die in such a vicious manner, regardless of what he/she may have faulted in, no one has the right to end someone’s life in such a sick, cruel and merciless manner! Exodus 20:13 is also clear on this.
