The Correctional Services has created an internal transitional management committee to “act on” the William Kapris escape report and allegations of corruption within the organisation.
Acting Commissioner Martin Balthazar said a seven-man committee was tasked to recover K2 million, money meant for rehabilitating the maximum security unit at Bomana but allegedly misapplied by the former regime.
Balthazar and CS minister’s first secretary, Smith Sagao, said K10 million had been set aside by NEC to fund the committee’s operations.
