CS guard of honour for Kerr

VISITING Australian parliamentary secretary for Pacific island affairs Duncan Kerr visited the Corrections Service headquarters while in Port Moresby last week.
More than 20 CS officers formed a guard of honour to welcome Mr Kerr and his delegation.
Mr Kerr addressed the officers and urged them take their responsibilities seriously with pride.
“You have a difficult task of making sure that you enforce discipline and respect but at the same time you can be eyes of the people you’re working with,” he said.
Mr Kerr said every officer had been given that opportunity to play a part in the history of PNG.
“It’s in your hands whether this country grows stronger and prosperous, not just you as a single individual but for a network of friends you have.
“It’s worth working for and worth striving for,” he said.
