Correctional Services officers in the country are attending a workshop in Northern on stress management and trauma issues faced in workplaces and homes.
Officers run a series of important stress and trauma issues experienced by officers. They were taught on how to train themselves and manage it at all times to avoid any health problems.
Officers from Biru Correctional Institute in Northern, Giligili Correctional Institute in Milne Bay, Ningerum in Western, Kavieng, Bomana and officers from the headquarters attended the workshop.
It was organised by CS headquarters and Justice Services and Stability for Development.
CS community and public relations officer Robert Kanabote said many of the officers expressed gratitude and they are at better position to make better judgments in their working environment.
Deputy provincial administrator for field services Tako Gwae told the participants to leave work in the office and go home free.
“Whatever that belongs to office must stay in the office, go home and enjoy your families,” he said.
Officers were told to return and educate others to live a healthy life.
