THE 2011-12 Ipatas Cup to be played nationwide  under the new half a million kina format will be officially launched this Saturday at the Omili Oval in Lae.
The competition will increase its prize money from K100,000 last year to K200,000 this year rivalling the Digicel Cup.
However, organisers are still looking for minor sponsors to run the biggest competition in PNG.
The other K300,000 will be used for prize money in the participating centres.
The competition will be played in Port Moresby, Kimbe, Lae, Kundiawa, Mt Hagen and Wabag.
Port Moresby will host the Southern region teams, Lae for Momase, Kimbe for the New Guinea Islands, Eastern Highlands teams will play in Lae, Simbu teams will play in Kundiawa, Western Highlands and Jiwaka teams will play in Mt Hagen and Southern Highlands and Enga teams will play in Wabag.
In the new format, each centre will host a final and the prize money is K10,000 (winners) with qualification into the finals play-off.
The knock-outs for the winning teams from each group will be played in Wabag and for the first time the grand final will be in Lae.
The competition kicks off on January 28 with the grand final on May 6.
All teams in every affiliated League around the country are urged to pay their registration fees to the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup ANZ Lae Branch account no. 13010389 as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience.

After receiving your deposit slip copy, teams will be sent a form listing the criteria and conditions of participation to be filled and sent back to the organisers for screening and selection purposes.
The 10-week tournament is expected to attract more than 150 teams but only 80 teams will be selected to compete in seven pools and in six centres.
