PNG Customs chief commissioner David Towe has urged customs officers to comply with the Covid-19 prevention protocols at all operating sites given the current spike in confirmed cases.
Towe said this was very important for the health and safety of their families and the continuity of customs operations.
“Our operations are at the borders engaging with international travellers and the processing of trade, imports and exports,” he said.
“It is very critical that we maintain strict Covid-19 protocols.”
“All customs officers must comply with the Covid-19 prevention protocols at all our operations. Wear face masks, wash hands and sanitise regularly, cough into your elbow, stay home if you feel sick, maintain social distancing, avoid going to crowded areas including others.”
