HETURA Cyclones competing in the University of Papua New Guinea rugby league competition received new sets of uniforms, courtesy of the National Gaming Control Board (NGCB).
The club is made up of players from Southern, Momase, highlands and the islands regions currently studying at the UPNG.
However, it was pioneer student and former Cyclones veteran Vuvu Ruing who secured the uniforms for the club.
Ruing said the sponsorship would boost the morale of upcoming sportsmen and women at the university.
“For the past four years, we had been looking for sponsors.
“However, it is timely that the new set of uniforms will enhance the performace of the players to play safe and balance their studies at the university,” Cyclones team manager Nomison Napo said.
