CENTRAL Dabaris chairman Keith Iduhu, pictured, has endorsed their 50-man squad after their trials last month.
Iduhu said apart from the squad, the entire playing group of 100 men initially selected would form the extended playing group to be announced later this month.
Iduhu said one of the club’s goals was to provide a pathway for Central talent to play high level rugby league and that was why they would maintain a large squad.
The franchise will be referred to as the Fortuna Fresh Central Dabaris.
Dabaris coaching director Chris Enara has called on players to resume full training at Bava Park at 1pm today to have their medical and fitness tests.
Head trainer Arua Ben Moide said training would increase in intensity as the staff looked to get the fittest players for the final 25-man squad for the season which kicks off in April.
Dabaris executive director Hubert Warupi highlighted that the selection of players was stringent and based on merit.
“As it turns out we have two rugby union players, three Koiari players, 22 Port Moresby rugby league players, one from Moresby South and 22 from Central district,” Warupi said.
