THE Central Dabaris yesterday presented jerseys to the clubs newest recruits this season ahead of their first match against the Goroka Lahanis this weekend. The presentation also witnessed the rollout of the club’s new uniforms for the season with players donning their home and away strips. Dabaris coach Gairo Pepena said the boost from provincial government and club sponsors was a big bonus for the team heading into the new season. “We’ve had a wonderful offseason and we kept working hard to get the best we could for the team and their performance this year,” he said. “We wanted to make sure that we have a strong team and we had a lot of work done in that time to get the players ready. “Apart from the core players we’ve also brought in a few new players to our roster so they’re bringing in their knowledge and experience of the game to the team.  “The build-up for us is looking good compared to the first two years of the club and we’ve set the benchmark in preseason and we’ve come out with good results in our trials so the expectation for us to perform is a high,” Pepena said. “The next best thing for us to do now is turn up on game day and make sure we do good to our jerseys and to the people who have put us where we are now.” The Dabaris home kit will be featured this weekend when they take on the Lahanis in their season opener this weekend.
