A BADLY beaten school girl yesterday pleaded with her father to stop punching her boyfriend outside the gates to their school in Port Moresby.
The assault took place at the gates to Coronation Primary School in Boroko in full view of security guards, students and some teachers.
The girl’s mother said her daughter was supposed to be at a coaching class at the school over the holidays in preparation for the Grade 8 examinations but instead was seen on the street with her boyfriend.
She said the daughter was 17-years-old but her boyfriend’s age could not be established.
The girl and her boyfriend were picked up by the father and another relative in the family car and taken to the school entrance where the father proceeded to beat them.
The sobbing girl pleaded with her father to stop beating her boyfriend.
Teachers, students and two security guards at the gate did not say or do anything to stop the girl’s father assaulting them.
