THE Department of Agriculture and Livestock (DAL) is building the capacity of institutions to support food safety and quality in the country.
The sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) compliance approach ensures that food safety and quality requirement is maintained at the laboratory level.
Technical experts will be engaged to build capacity following the signing of a memorandum of agreement by DAL acting secretary Dr Vele Pat Ila’ava yesterday
Ila’ava said the signing was one of the many steps the department has taken and would go a long way to support the institutions.
