Danaya challenges Govt

WESTERN Governor Dr Bob Danaya has challenged the Government to improve its health and education services to stem the flow of people travelling from the province to Australia’s Torres Strait Islands.
Last week, a Torres Strait Islands leader said the unregulated flow of people from PNG was putting a strain on resources on the Australian islands.
Dr Danaya has confirmed PNG nationals are entering Australia across the border seeking social services and added that PNG authorities were working to set up a border authority to monitor the people’s needs.
