Darts finals see Rodney, Kiaka prevail

JARETH Rodney and Jackie Kiaka, pictured, were crowned men and women’s champions in the Papua New Guinea Dart League’s singles tournament in Lae over the Independence weekend.
Rodney and Kiaka beat Brendon Mark and Nelly Jaunnu in their respective finals.
According to the league, the tournament was aimed at prepare players for upcoming tournaments.
Players from Mumeng, Yonki and Lae competed in the tournament.
“The format used to be knockouts where losers get eliminated in every game but it was changed to a round-robin format to give more playing time for every participant,” league president Nigel Kiaka said.
