COMMUNITY Development Minister Andrew Mald donated a set of uniforms to the 4-Mile Works Dauba Warriors yesterday.
The uniforms were bought for more than K1,500 and include jerseys, shorts and socks.
Mald, who is also Moresby North-east MP, presented the uniforms to the players witnessed by the NCD MNE youth and sports chairman Rex Kuman.
He also handed over K600 to player/coach Eskay Madox.
The players will be using the uniforms this weekend.
He said he was committed to human resource development and was using sports as a tool to rehabilitate youths in the electorate.
He urged the youths to take care of the uniforms because sponsorship was hard to come by from the corporate sector.
Mald said they should take pride in MNE because it was the biggest district compared with the other 89 districts. He said the electorate boasts of a well-organised and coordinated sports programme with K1 million spent towards the concept since 2010.
Madox thanked the minister for the gesture which should boost their campaign in the rugby league competition this season.
He said the players were confident to fare well with the A grade currently in the top eight.
