Daulo puts aside K1.5m for repair of feeder roads

Highlands

THE Daulo District Development Authority (DDA) has allocated K1.5 million to fix feeder roads this year, MP Pogio Ghate says.
He said damaged bridges would also be fixed.
Ghate said they were working with the Works Department to repair and upgrade roads.
“As we speak, machines are in Kwongi fixing the road,” he said. “With the help of the Department of Works, we will slowly fix all our trunk roads.”
Speaking during the opening of a new teachers’ residential unit at the Mando Primary School in the Lower Asaro local level government area, Ghate said good roads would enable easier access to services.
Meanwhile, the district has engaged a PNG Power rural electrification team from Port Moresby to do scoping work in parts of the district.
Ghate said PNG Power officers were at the Watabung LLG area to start work.
They will proceed to Daulo Top and the surrounding villages.
