affiliates of  the Basketball Federation Papua New Guinea are urged to settle their affiliation fees before the end of this month.

This was the warning from BFPNG president Nick Daroa after returning from the FIBA Congress in Sydney, Australia last week.

Daroa said the affiliation fees for major centres Port Moresby and Lae is K1500 while for others it is K500.

So far only Pom Women’s Basketball League, Daru, Alotau and East New Britain have registered while Madang, the host for the Junior U19 Championships, is yet to confirm. He said associations who fail to affiliate will mean that their teams miss out on selections during the U19 Championship in July in Madang.

The president said the training squad will comprise of players who participated in the FIBA Oceania tournament in 2012 in Melbourne, Australia, Kavieng, and selections from the Madang Championship soon to be staged.

Daroa said the squad will be trimmed down to 15 before a final selection of 10 players will represent the country at the Pacific Oceania U19 Championships from November 26-December 6 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji.
