MEMBERS of the PNG Defence Force will now be able to have access to National Contributors Savings and Loan (ncsl) products and services wherever they are in the country.
This was made possible through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Comrade Trustee Services Ltd (CTSL) and ncsl yesterday.
Ncsl chairman Ian Tarutia said this followed discussions between the two organisations and acknowledging the work that the PNGDF personnel did.
He said the PNGDF members were usually spread throughout the country with no direct access to banking services and the MoU would enable the provision of ncsl products and services.
“The value proposition for us is the innovative services that we have,” he said.
“Acknowledging the PNG Defence Force and the kind of work they do, they are spread throughout the country and do a lot of work in terms of security and looking after our country.
“So the servicemen do not always have direct access to banking, and savings and loan facilities.
“The second value proposition for us is that we have a wide branch of network throughout the country and we operate in 16 provinces so accessibility to new members who will be onboarding through this partnership, will have access to those services.”
PNGDF Commander Maj Gen Gilbert Toropo said the partnership with ncsl was a great opportunity for PNGDF members to have access to savings and loans services and products, considering the work they do and area of operations.
“This will give another opportunity for our members to have another avenue for their savings and also have the opportunity for bringing this service to their doorsteps.”
