Deal with issues affecting education

Letters

FREE education policy is not compatible with developments happening in the education sector right now.
The policy itself is good but maybe the introduction is too early as we are not prepared.
Government need to invest more in education sector by building more infrastructures to cater for the rapid growing population.
Upgrade teachers colleges and train more teachers as many remote and rural schools still need teachers.
Upgrade teachers teaching capacity by conducting more teachers in-service or training courses.
Produce more teachers to teach and provide learning materials.
People pay taxes and the government need to step up with sound decisions on how they use the money.
On the same note, the government’s intention to introduce the new higher education loan programme is good but will partly fail as the government is not prepared to make this scheme compatible.
Decent employment is still an issue.
Students benefiting from this loan need to secure a proper and well paid job in order to easily repay the loan after completing their studies.
