Defence Force promotes Engineering Battalion officers

THREE officers from Engineering Battalion at Igam Barracks in Lae were promoted to senior ranks last Wednesday in a ceremony leading up to the 42nd anniversary.
The three officers were warrant officer Alois Tovot promoted to chief warrant officer and posted in as ASM Workshop, Sgt Peter Alois promoted to warrant officer and posted in as regiment quarter master, and Sgt Tony Patrick promoted to warrant officer and posted in as company sergeant major support company (horizontal construction).
Battalion commanding officer Lt Col Bruno Malau told The National there ws a selection panel that approved PNGDF personnel with the rank of sergeant to be promoted.“PNGDF Engineering Battalion submitted five of our nominees. Out of the five, four were approved for promotion to warrant officers,” he said.
“One warrant officer was approved to be chief warrant officer.”
