THE Port Moresby Defence women’s rugby union team to the Byron Bay 7s tournament in Australia returned on Tuesday after making the cup semi-final of the women’s division.
Team coach John Larry said the side performed well winning five of six games and averaging over 30 points per match and gaining a reputation for their physical style.
Defence lost to eventual champions Eastsyde of New Zealand 36-0 but defeated Sydney University 17-15, West Bulldogs 31-0, Qld University 39-5, X-Rats 54-0 and Coffs Harbour 56-0.
