Delay in paying ward members not fair

Letters

I SUPPORT the efforts of the East New Britain deputy governor chairman Cosmas Bauk.
He has been working tirelessly to make sure ward members receive their allowances.
These ward members were not appointed, they were elected through the legal election process of Papua New Guinea and the delay on the payment of their allowances is not the fault of the political leaders.
The delay is caused by the slackness of the concern authorities.
The public servants in the wards and local level government services are not doing their jobs.
Ward members work very hard through tough circumstances.
We are always with the people and that is why we deserve to be paid our allowances on a monthly basis.
We work hard every day to serve our people and for us to be treated like this is not fair.

Kuraip ward member
