Delegates say PNG a great host

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has given the thumbs up to Papua New Guinea for hosting the  Summit of ACP Heads of State and Government in Port Moresby.
“I think it ended successfully,” he told The National.
“The matters that we intended to discusswere discussed, and I think the handling of the meeting by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea was excellent.
“It was a challenging task to weigh issues brought up by three groups from Africa, Caribbean and Pacific – different levels of development but the challenges are the same.”

Ambassador of Samoa to the European Union Dr Paolele Luteru has thanked Papua New Guinea for hosting the summit of AfricaCaribbeanPacific heads of State and Government in Port Moresby.
He told The National yesterday that PNG should be proud that it had come to the rescue of ACP in hosting the summit.
“We’re all very proud of the fact that Papua New Guinea came to the rescue of the ACP Group,” he said.
“The summit was supposed to have been held in the Caribbean but they were not able to do it. And PNG, at very short notice, came to the rescue and it’s been a fantastic meeting so far.
“We must congratulate and commend Papua New Guinea.”

Vice-president of Sierra Leonie Victor Bockarie-Foh
PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill has been commended for hosting and chairing the African Caribbean and Pacific leaders’ summit.
Vice-President of Sierra Leone Victor Bockarie-Foh said O’Neill’s chairmanship showed PNG’s level of democracy.
“Thank you for displaying a very good chairmanship. It is not easy to manage a group as such where country after country and delegation after delegation come on equal footing. You’ve managed this summit so very successfully.
“This shows the level of development of democracy in this country, more particularly parliamentary democracy.
“We were well taken care of by Papua New Guinea.”
