A DELEGATION from FIFA will make their final visit next month to gauge PNG’s preparation for the 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup.

PNG Football Association president David Chung said the FIFA delegation would visit Port Moresby from March 2-3.

“The visit is very important for us as country whether we are ready to host the tournament or not,” he said.

Past FIFA delegations have expressed concern on how soon PNGFA and the LOC can access financial support from the host government and other donors to prepare for the November 13 to December 3 event.

Chung also confirmed that the members of the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup local organising committee (LOC) headed by executive officer Seamus Martenz, would return today after meeting with FIFA on PNG’s preparation for the premier women’s football event.

Some members of LOC includes the PNG Sports Foundation chairman Graham Osborne (government representative), Dr Gideon Kendino (medical), John Wesley Gonjuan (administration) and Denyse Ealadona (LOC media).

Attempt to get comments from Martenz have been unsuccessful.
